FALL BALL REGISTRATION
BEGINS SATURDAY, AUG 15 & 22

Registration for the 2009 Fall Baseball League will begin on Saturday, August 15th and August 22nd, from 9AM to 3PM at the old Parks & Rec office on Richie Road.  Registration will be accepted for teams and players age 4 through 15 for the following divisions:  6&Under machine pitch / t-ball; 8&Under pitching machine; 10&Under live pitch; 12&Under live pitch (70 foot bases); and 15&Under Babe Ruth League.  League play will be under Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth league rules.  Individual registration is $50 per player and teams may register for $500 per team.  For more information, contact us at baseball@cabotbaseball.com. n
 

2009 LEAGUE SEASON
COMPLETED

The 2009 league season ended on June 11th.   All star teams have been selected in the various age divisions and will soon be playing in the official Babe Ruth League and Cal Ripken Baseball post season tournaments.  Best wishes to the teams and we hope to have everyone back for the 2010 season.  n

AN OPEN LETTER FROM
ANITA MARTIN
2009 League President

To all Coaches and Parents of CYBA:

As the season winds down, I would like to take a moment to thank all of you for what you have done and continue to do for your kids.  This past February, I lost my Mother and this caused me to do a lot of thinking and I finally decided that it was time to retire. As of July, 2009, I will have spent my ninth year with the CYBA, my fifth year as President and this will be my last.  I have spent sixteen years involved with baseball and have loved (and sometimes dreaded) the seasons, but I always came back. Now that my boys are 22 and 16, it is time to step down and do more things with them and my husband.  I will still be here until spring, 2010 to be in charge of the umpires and scorekeepers and to help assist the Board Members in any way I can.

Coaches, when I watch the kids play and watch you coach – I remember the days of my kids playing and how fast it all went by.  I am thankful that you have chosen to coach in Cabot.

Parents, remember, they do grow up and fast! Every day you have with them is a blessing and a gift to cherish FOREVER!

I leave knowing the league will be in good hands.  I have worked with some great people this year and I know they will take care of business in seasons to come.
